The South West Section has been lucky to obtain well known personalities who will give us most interesting talks during the winter months, and we look forward to seeing many members and friends.

James Jermain, the consultant editor of Yachting Monthly who was on the first leg of “Gypsy Moth’s” round the world cruise, will share the experiences of his trip.
Tuesday November 27th

Andrew Ecclestone will be talking about meteorology for sailors and how yachtsmen can access information. Andrew will be the Chairman of a joint event of the Royal Institute of Navigation and the Met. Office held at the Met. Office at Exeter, entitled “Weather and Sailing” on November 10th 2007.
Tuesday March 19th
Drummond Challis who was responsible for making the film of the “Riddle of the Sands” will give us a talk entitled “The Riddle of Erskine Childers” who was, of course, the author. We will also hear about his boat and its similarities to “Dulcibella” of that tale.
