Activities September 2005
We are holding our River Cleddau Mini-rally at Landshipping on the weekend of 10th/11th September. (Tide information omitted.)
The firm landing slip is just inside the Eastern Cleddau on the S. shore N. of the village near the ruined country house. Do not attempt to land at the place marked Landshipping Quay on the charts. It is surrounded by private property and had mud worthy of the East Coast of England. Beware of the power cable that crosses the entrance to the Eastern Cleddau, marked by beacons with yellow rhombi. Also beware of the Cockle Bank N. of Llangwm that extends almost to the rocks on the E. shore.
We can meet for lunch at the Stanley Arms, 150m S of landing slip. We can then visit Cwm Deri Vineyard at Martletwy or Picton Castle. Alternatively we could explore the Eastern Claddau by dinghy although I am not sure that we will get to Blackpool Mill at L.W. We can return to the Stanley Arms for an evening meal. Those who wish can call at Lawrenny for lunch on the way down river on Sunday.
