“Isle of Barra” around Ireland 2005
The NI Section of the Cruising Association had their first meeting on the 11th November when Peter Kennedy gave an illustrated talk on how they sailed their Fisher 34 Isle of Barra from Bangor to Bangor around Ireland from May to July 2005. The talk was very interesting and showed us a lot of pictures of their adventure. Peter reported meeting a lot of CA members along the South coast of Ireland, but very few on the West coast. He told us that yachts on the West coast were very scarce.
At this first event that the NI Cruising Association has promoted we were well supported by local CA Members and also a visiting member, Patrick Boddy, who is at present resident in Bangor Marina.
We hope to organise something else in the future. Anyone with any proposals should contact me.
