Publisher: Imray Laurie Norie & Wilson, , 2000 £ 32.50
With 440 A4 pages printed on good quality "yacht friendly" paper, this is laid out in the well-honed style, developed by the publishers Messrs Imray. There are 8 pages of excellent full colour illustrations. The remainder is in black and white only. In spite of this the many harbour and other plans, using shaded land areas, are easy to understand and follow. Many line drawings of prominent navigational marks and coastal silhouettes add charm as well as navigational benefit and supplement the many photographs, some regrettably of indifferent quality, found throughout the book.
The text is comprehensive, well written and contains some interesting historical notes. It is prefaced by useful introductory sections of general interest about the areas covered, as well as the navigational information. The familiar and consistent style adopted by the publisher throughout renders it very "user friendly" and will doubtless augment the earlier editions of this popular yachting pilot. - ARB
