As you are led to believe from the title, this slim hardback contains a range of ideas for making additions to your boat. Some of them will be familiar to those who followed the PBO Sketchbook series some years ago or have read the Jacques Damour “101 Tips and Hints for Your Boat” by the same publishers.
The aim of providing simple tasks for anyone to achieve is a little stretched as one or two assume a level of skill or tool ownership above the basic. Nevertheless, most would be possible for most owners. Suggestions range from remarkably simple ones such as putting a solar powered lamp into the ensign socket to provide light when returning after dark, through to the making up and positioning of “faux davits” for a rigid dinghy – a cheap and probably workable solution to an old problem. All are set out clearly with excellent drawings and text with minor exceptions. - MJD
