Introduction to MyCA

Registering for MyCA

You can register for MyCA by clicking on 'Create new account' if you are a CA member. You will need your CA Membership number, unless your email address is already on our files. HLRs and Crewing service members may also register.

If you want to join the CA. please click on 'Join the CA' at the top of the window.

When completing the form, please use your preferred Forename and Surname (e.g. Henry Hanson) as your Username, not a nickname or 'handle', and leave a space between these. If we recognize your email address from our lists, or alternatively you give your membership number and surname correctly in the boxes provided, you will immediately be sent a unique password by email and be able to log in.

Once you've logged in you can change your password to something easier to remember. Details are on the next page.

If at any time you forget your password you will be able to recover it by clicking on 'Request new password'. A link will be sent to your email address which allows you to log in once and change your password to something else. Don't delay in using this, or it will expire and you will have to request another 'one-time link'.

Note that the system takes some care to avoid your email address being seen. You can be emailed by other members but this is done without telling them your email address, although if you reply to them they will find out that way.

If you are one of a couple who both want to join but only have one email address for both of you, you can have an address at MyCA for this purpose. There are a number of reasons why you might value this, including these:

• You are a couple, only have one email address but want to have individual names in MyCA.
• Your email does not come with a webmail option so you can't use it in internet cafés when cruising.
• You can't send emails from your normal ISP when you are cruising and using a mobile phone.

To get an email address, please request it from the CA Office .

Note that the CA is not an internet service provider and you must already have a way of connecting to the internet and an email for instructions. However you can use (on an ongoing basis) an email program that is already being used for another account -- the instructions are given in the confirmation email you will be sent and are repeated here.

At present due to technical problems a few of the other members' only pages are not available in MyCA. If you are already logged in, you may click here to find the password to access these.
