HLR Guide
This page is designed for HLRs who wish to update their own web page.
Up till now, material provided by HLRs of the CA in their annual returns has been manually transferred to the members’ section of the web by the webmaster. This has meant that it’s only possible for an HLR to correct or update the page by request, and an HLR who is not a member of the CA was never able to see the page.
Now that has changed in two ways:

all HLRs have the right to get an account on MyCA and see their web pages.

they have the right to change their own web page using a simple editor provided by the system, or create one if they don’t currently have one.
This document will attempt to steer you through these processes so that you can see and update your page if you’ve got one or create one if not.
Getting a user id
The instructions for gettting an account are given here. Most people will be able to log in using their email address which we have on our database. Otherwise you need to contact the office for your membership number. Yes, you have a membership number (URN) even if you aren't a member, since we have an appropriate record on our database.
Once you have created a user name and changed your password to something you can remember, you are ready to look at or create your own web page.
Modifying your web page
If you already have a page you first need to find it. Click on HLR Pages on the left hand side of the screen and you will see a list of names. Scroll down till you find your own, or narrow the search to your country by using the search mechanism and do the same.
When you click on the page, you should see a series of tabs - View, Edit - at the top of the window. e.g.
If you don't see the edit window it means that you haven't been recorded as an HLR for some reason. Please contact the staff to sort this out.
Click on the edit tab and you will be presented with the text of the page in a small window in the middle of the screen that you can edit (you will have to scroll down to see it). There are more details of editing here. When you have made the corrections or additions you want, click on the Preview button at the bottom to see how it looks. There may be minor differences in the layout and you will find another edit box below the preview where you can make any corrections you want. There will also be a Submit button on this screen - don't forget to click it or all your changes will be lost.
Owning your web page
If you have created your own web page, then it will say "Submitted by" your name. However if your page was created before you had a MyCA account it will have the name of the person who created it. You can get this changed by asking the staff now that you have an account. You are enabled to edit it because you have been accredited as an HLR, and in fact you can edit any HLR page. We hope this will encourage cooperation between HLRs - please do not alter someone else's page without their permission.
